Hi guys! Feel free to join the conversation, ask questions about jewelry, share ideas, or just chat about your engagement, your wedding plans — whatever.

I’d love to hear your comments on developing style trends, how you came to know about certain design lines, how you shop for your engagement ring and your likes and dislikes about the process. And, as always, feel free to chat about other related and unrelated things as we “Dish Diamonds.”

The Hearts on Fire difference

Growing up in the business I have learned to appreciate the perfection in a diamond.  The first thing I learned about what makes a diamond sparkle is the cut of the diamond.  Hearts on Fire diamonds make it really easy to understand what to look for in a diamond because they are the world’s most perfectly cut diamond and you can see the difference.  I have always admired the fire and brilliance in a Hearts on Fire diamond but when my husband put my engagement ring on my finger I was like wow!  The first thing I noticed in my engagement ring is how much it sparkles.  I noticed all the colors in the rainbow with the little lighting there was on our balcony that night he proposed.  Even though I work in the business and grew up around diamonds, once I had that ring on my finger I told my husband “someone must really love me!” What I love the most are the random people that compliment my ring when I least expect it.  Like when I am at the grocery store and the cashier says “wow! That is one sparkly diamond”.  I’m not going to lie.  It’s a great feeling.  Stop by Saettele Jewelers and let me show you the difference.  You can check out Hearts on Fire’s engagement rings on our website.

Do you know your birthstone?
A customer called me the other day to let me know he and his wife were expecting their first baby together.  I had helped him out with his engagement ring last year and I love those surprise calls when newlyweds share the special news and to find out she is due in just a few weeks!  He wants to surprise her with a ring that symbolizes the baby’s August birthstone, Peridot.   Peridot is known to have the attractive bright lime green transparent color.  I think it is very fitting for August.  The color is so bright and colorful for summer.  Do you know what your birthstone is?
